Hey everyone

First off, my apologies for not blogging in a while (don't know if you noticed?! *shrugs*) but these past two weeks before the easter break have been crazy! Last week I had a test (it went terribly - meh), I had a lab report due on Monday, I've got an interview and a presentation tomorrow and a case report due Friday - it's ridiculous how they decide to just lump all this work on us all at the same time - not a happy bunny.

Anyways - that's why there was no MWIP last week so here's a cumulation of this week's and last week's pics....
I have the curse of always being early to everything - one morning last week I was the first person in the lecture theatre - very eerie.

The bf decided to rearrange my floor cushions for me - he's been trained so well :P

Gotta love these beautiful springy days we've been having recently :)

The curse of the lab report. My life has been put on hold these two weeks to get all my work done :(

Another beautiful day - just look at that sky; and this was at half 6pm!

Ma and I ate dinner outside for the first time this year :)

The drink of my summer is always Raspberry Iced Tea and Costa definitely do it best :)

I was feeling bright; neon nails, neon highlighter, neon jumper #andwhat

K found my name in C's book - correct spelling and everything. I hadn't realised a book had been written about my affairs - haha! :)

Hope you all had a fab week and are enjoying spring now that it has finally sprung :)

Top Five Tuesday: Things I'm Excited About For Spring

Hey everyone
It's Tuesday so I'm linking up with Rachel from @JustPeachy for the things I'm excited about for Spring.

Here in the UK we're having a mini-heatwave - its awesome! It's been about 19 °C every day this week - it's practically summer! K, C, G and I were even doing a spot of sunbathing between our lecture and labs today - it was beautiful; we all said how lucky we were to be at such a picturesque uni in the country :)

Sufficient to say that I am fully embracing Spring at the moment so this 'Top Five Tuesday' couldn't be more appropriate this week, here goes...

1) Bright nail polishes - I may or may not have been saving some new nail polishes for Spring so I am super excited to wear them now :)
This is my latest purchase - Westbourne Grove from nails inc. (side note: they package their stuff really cute-ly!) - it's a super-bright orange - I love it! Next on my list is Ladbroke - an amazing neon green!

2) Espadrilles
How cute are these from Office?! I love the variation of espadrilles there is this year compared to just the plain coloured ones that were around last year :)

3) Lazy afternoons in the garden
My fave way to spend spring afternoons - outside with a good book and an iced mocha :)

4) Sunnies - I'm a sucker for sunglasses; I may or may not have multiple pairs in my handbag, college bag and car so I always have some about my person.
These Nico TF 1 sunnies from Tom Ford will be mine by the time summer rolls around :)

5) Iced Drinks - any excuse to use my new tumbler :P
Raspberry Iced Tea - my summer staple and spring is as good as summer, right? :)

Mcfly: Keep Calm & Play Louder...

Hey everyone
Exactly one week ago today I went to see my most favourite-est band in the whole world - Mcfly! They were playing at a venue that was only literally half an hour away from my house so I was super excited! - they've never played this close to where I live before! It was a struggle but I eventually got tickets for Ma, Nam, my Aunty and moi - yes my Nam & Aunty are on the other side of 50 years old but they still had a rocking time! That's one of my fave things about Mcfly shows - they surpass generations; at the concert there were teens, early 20s, kids, and a more mature audience haha!

So, although this post isn't really what I usually post on this blog but I want to recored everything for posterity and here seemed like a good place to do so :)

Taken from the car park - massive queue!

The stage before the show - turns out after all the palava of almost not getting tickets we ended up with pretty good seats :)

The first support act, Boomin - these won the battle of the bands to support Mcfly at this venue and I can see why - they were awesome! Definitely going to be keeping an eye out for them locally in the future :) The dude on the right was completely crazy - soo much energy!

The second support act was Ivyrise - very very good. Can't wait to download their album :)

The pre-Mcfly entry music was the YMCA - immense atmosphere.

I loved the set of the show - because the tour was Keep Calm and Play Louder everything was really British-y  there were carpets on the stage and there were pictures of the Queen in the corners - very well designed.

They were amazing as always! They always sound so amazing live, and they interact with the crowd so effectively too :)

Tom & Danny bowing to Dougie as he plays the bass line of Lies

Tom playing the piano on one of my ultimate fave songs; She Falls Asleep - this was the first time I'd heard it played live and I may or may not have got a little emotional.

My fave moment of the night; Tom, Danny & Dougie doing an acoustic version of another of my faves, No Worries. At the end they kept going faster and faster and faster - really got the crowd excited - immense!

I may or may not have purchased a hoody :S My excuse? I don't have a brown one...and it's Mcfly - I had to!...

And a programme - I buy a program every tour - this one has some awesome artwork!

P.S credit for the video links to the YTers who made them :)

Top Five Tuesday: Books...

Hey everyone
Seriously, Rachel @Just Peachy has made it so difficult this week to just pick five!! Books are my passion, I read anything and everything so picking just five to share with you has been super difficult....

1) Harry Potter by JK Rowling - I was a huge fan of these books from the very start and I can definitely say that they were my favourite books from my childhood. Having said that I find that I can still read them now and can honestly say that I'm astounded at how Rowling was able to write so well for both kids and adults in one book- amazing! I love everything about these books, the plot is so cleverly written, the settings are so believable and the character - well, we became great friends. I may or may not have made Nam go to the midnight release of the last book to pick it up for me (despite having pre-ordered it) because I was on holiday and then made her ring me up and tell me the last line - I spent the last 3 days of the holiday desperately trying to figure out what it could mean. As soon as I got back from my holiday ( at 2am may I add)  I started reading the Deathly Hallows - I finished it in 5 hours #oops #dedicated

2) Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult - this was the book that introduced me to Jodi Picoult - I'm so glad that it did! I love these because books they discuss real and contemporary issues in an easy manner, for example this one is about a guy on death row who wants to donate his heart - it's such an amazing book; I literally felt so connected to Shay that I cried at the end. For me, JP books are the perfect break from chick flicks :)

3) The Au Pairs Series by Melissa de la Cruz - These books began my obsession with The Hamptons. They are classic summer beachy chick-flicks but I have such a weakness for them! I love all the different characters and watching them change throughout the series; quick, easy reading of a fab story :)

4) Amy & Roger's Epic Detour - I picked up this book on a whim last summer, mainly because the cover art is so incredibly awesome! But the story has become one of my absolute favourites - I love the journey both literally and as characters that the plot depicts. A definite summer read - I may or may not have read it about 4 times last summer, haha! Recommend for sure :)
5) Before I die by Jenny Downham - this is one of those books that I think that everyone should read. It's a heart-wrenching story about a girl battling cancer in the last few months of her life. I first read this on holiday and immediately passed it to Ma so she could read it too - we both cried. I can't say that I have read this book multiple times like I have with the others in my top 5 but I still keep it for when I need to have some perspective in my life.

Honorable mentions:

via                                                                          via                                                               via
Any book by Jodi Picoult - they are all awesomely thought provoking.

The Great Gatsby by F.Scott Fitzgerald - it's a classic for a reason!

The 'Moving' series by Kate Cann - I'm not really sure what it is about this book that I like so much - it's a pretty standard series about self-discovery and maturing through life's experiences - but there's something about it that makes me keep re-reading it.

What are your fave books? Which ones do you keep coming back to?

ELF Haul...

Hey everyone
I thought I'd share what I recently ordered from ELF. This is approx. my fifth order from them yet I still can't get over their prices/quality - it's awesome!

The 'just opened' package - is it just me that gets super excited when they receive a package in the mail?!

I tried the mineral foundation and concealer last time I ordered from ELF and they were so good that I repurchased this time! They are no way up to the standard of Bare Minerals obviously but for everyday wear for less than a quarter of the price (just £3.50!!) I think they're great :)

I am at a bit of a loss as to the shades though - these are apparently both fair - I can deffo see a difference between them! Just a slight difference admittedly but still a difference.

L-R: Toasted & Golden Peach
L-R: Toasted & Golden Peach

I decided to try out the all over colour sticks from them because I had heard that they were sort of along the same lines as NARS multiples but I have zero intention of paying the price that NARS charges for products that I'm not even sure that I like, so for £1.50 I thought I'd give these a go! I purchased Toasted because I am yet to find my perfect bronzer so I thought I'd give this one a go, and Golden Peach because I am obsessed with that Orgasm-esque gold-y peach colour :) I'm waiting 'til summer to try them out though because I always feel that cream cheek products always look better with a tan - here's hoping they will look nice though :)

Are any of you ELF fans? What are your fave ELF products?
